San Francesco de Geronimo Sports Centre – Monticello

Located on the suburb of Grottaglie, the centre is one of the city’s green lungs and extends over an area between Via Carlo Marx and Via Messapia. It has a large tree-lined park with benches in which pines predominate along with fir trees and other species of trees and shrubs. The area includes the Jesuit Fathers’ centre with an important library, the church dedicated to San Francesco de Geronimo and the Monticello Theatre, and is equipped with various sports facilities such as tennis, basketball and football courts. A place of aggregation and entertainment, the centre hosts theatre reviews and cultural events.
