Municipal Art Gallery “Zoi Psarrou” in Akrata

The Municipal Gallery of Akrata – “Zoi Psarrou” has been operating since 2005. It includes three invaluable collections, bearing the names of their donors. The donation of the co-creator Zoe Psarrou, whose Gallery is a creation, with works by representative Greek artists. The generous offer of Charalambos Giannakopoulos, who in 2018 donated, paintings also characteristic of the modern art history of the country. The third collection of the painter Takis Sideris, works that he created, is a very noble offer of the creator painting in Greece. Thus, the Municipal Gallery of Akrata claims uniqueness, due to an inherent “contradiction”: it concentrates in its small space, in a small town, a valuable, concise, but wide and indicative piece of the art of Greek painters and the history of its art 20th century.
